#5) Girls Cross Country Team Advances to First Regional Meet Since 1998

The Fitch girls cross country team accomplished a feat that hadn't been achieved in nearly 30 years heading into the 2025 season. Following a three decade absence, the Lady Falcons finally got the proverbial monkey off their back by advancing to the OHSAA Regional Championships for the first time since 1998 with a 7th place finish at Districts.
Brenna Bosley helped lead the charge for Fitch at the District Meet as she posted a 7th place finish with a time of 19:55.57. Lilly Trolio wasn't far behind as she finished in 13th place at 20:21.39. In addition to Bosley and Trolio, five other runners moved on to the Division 2 Regional Meet including Maddie Galchick, Tayrismar Mendez-Tirado, Lisa White, Rachel DeMetro and Graceyn Bosley for a chance to advance to State.

Senior Lilly Trolio was the lone Lady Falcons representative to advance to the OHSAA Division 2 State Championships after finishing the regional course in 20:02.65, placing 44th overall in a field of 332 runners. Fellow senior Brenna Bosley had a strong showing as well with a time of 20:21.81, but just missed out on advancing with her teammate. Trolio became the first Lady Falcon to qualify for the state meet since Elizabeth Spalding (Class of 2025) who advanced at the end of the 2021 season. Trolio was also the second Fitch runner in as many seasons to make it to the OHSAA Cross Country State Championships as Justin Sahli (Class of 2025) represented the Falcons' boys team in 2024.
