#8) Simons Graduates as Career Leader in Multiple Categories for Fitch Volleyball Program
With its decades long history of success, the Fitch volleyball program has seen its share of individual successes as well throughout that time. However, following the 2025 season, only one player can call herself the school's all-time leader in assists, digs, and aces.
Rylie Simons rewrote the record book during her four years with the team and will mostly be remembered for putting up a school record 3339 career assists, a mark which ranks 6th all-time in OHSAA history. The setter also owns the Lady Falcons' records for assists in a season with 869 and assists in a match with 56.
During her senior season, Simons added two more major school records to her résumé as she became the program's all-time leader in career digs with 1072 as well as the all-time leader in career aces with 232.
Along with records comes recognition, and Rylie received a bounty of awards for her success on the court including those listed below:
- Second Team All-Ohio (2024)
- 4x OHSVCA District 1 First Team
- 2x OHSVCA District 1 Player of the Year
- 4x All-American Conference First Team
- 2x All-American Conference Player of the Year
- All-American Conference Respect the Game Sportsmanship Award
The recently graduated Fitch alumna, who was a three-time Team Captain and two-time Team MVP, "set" a high bar for future Lady Falcons to try to reach. But as the old sports adage goes, "records are made to be broken." Just ask Rylie Simons.
