Fitch visited Cardinal Mooney on Friday night and emerged with a convincing 55-37 victory over the Cardinals to improve to 4-2 on the season.
The Falcons races out to 27-12 halftime lead thanks to a strong defensive effort and offensive efficiency. The Cardinals were held to single-digit scoring totals in both the 1st (8 points) and 2nd quarters (4 points), while Fitch got 13 1st half points from E.J. Giles, 6 from Junie Higgs and 4 from Brady Evans to create the 15-point cushion.
Fitch kept their foot on the gas pedal coming out of the locker room with a 20-point 3rd quarter and were able to freely substitute in the final frame to win going away.
Evans and Braeden Sallee both scored 6 points in the third quarter with Giles and A.J. Diaz each adding four points to help put the Cardinals away.
Giles led all scorers with 17 points, while Evans also finished in double digits with 12 points. Higgs and Sallee both scored 8 points and Diaz added 6 points. Dom Lipinsky and Caden Hernandez both scored 2 points to account for the scoring output.
The JV game proved to be a tightly contested contest with the game going to overtime to determine the winner. In the end, the Falcons prevailed 61-60 to move to 3-2 on the season. A.J. Davenport and Caden Hernandez both scored 16 points, with Davenport scoring 5 in the overtime period. Logan Polish hit 2 three-pointers as he finished with 8 pints while Mykeim Barnette added 6 points.
The Falcons will visit Hubbard on Tuesday, December 23 in their next contest.
