Girls Basketball Season Ends with Postseason Loss at Home

The 2025-26 season is officially in the books for the Fitch girls basketball team. The Lady Falcons hosted a District Semifinal game against North Royalton on Wednesday, and it was the visiting Lady Bears who earned the right to move on to the District Final by beating Fitch by a score of 59-49.

Fitch was down 15-10 after the first quarter and went into halftime staring up at a 27-19 deficit. The Lady Falcons would outscore their opponent 17-16 in the third period to cut the lead to seven at 43-36 heading into the final frame. North Royalton stayed in front by outscoring Fitch 16-13 in the fourth to hang on for the ten point victory.

Seniors Kylie Folkwein and Amiya Harris finished with point totals of 15 and 14, respectively, in their final game as members of the Fitch girls basketball team. Junior Kaliana Ray had 9 points and sophomore Aviella Swift had 3. The Lady Falcons' three other seniors, Amira Harris, Kaelyn Bower, and Jeweliana Farmer each scored 2 points in their final appearance on the court in a Fitch uniform.

The Lady Falcons close the season with an overall record of 8-15, including the playoff loss to North Royalton, and will be looking to replace the combined talent of their quintet of graduating seniors moving forward.
