Lady Falcons End Regular Season with Loss to Harding

Having lost two straight games going into the regular season finale at Warren Harding on Wednesday, the Fitch girls basketball team was looking to right the ship and get back into the win column before entering postseason play. Unfortunately, the Lady Raiders sank that ship by handing their All-American Conference rivals a third straight loss by a score of 55-45.

Trailing by just three after the first quarter ended with Harding up 14-11, the Lady Raiders' offense exploded en route to a 25-6 second quarter to take a 39-17 lead into the halftime break. The Lady Falcons fought back with a 13-5 score in the third period as the teams headed into the final stanza with Harding still leading 44-30. Fitch would outscore the home team again in the fourth quarter as the Lady Falcons took the frame 15-11, but the damage done during the Lady Raiders' huge second quarter outburst was too much for Fitch to overcome in the 55-45 defeat.

Kaelyn Bower led the Lady Falcons with 15 points with fellow senior Amiya Harris reaching double digits with 11. Kaliana Ray scored 6 with Jeweliana Farmer adding 4 and Aviella swift finishing with 3. Stevonna Wright and Bella Baumgart each had 20 while seniors Amira Harris and Kylie Folkwein finished with 1 point apiece.

With the loss, the Lady Falcons conclude the 2025-26 regular season with an 8-14 overall record along with a conference record of 3-5. The team will host an OHSAA Division 2 Semifinal playoff game on Wednesday, February 25 against North Royalton. Tipoff between the Lady Falcons and Lady Bears is set for 7:00pm

Prior to the varsity game the junior varsity squads played two quarters with the Lady Falcons burying the Lady Raiders by a score of 31-8. Fitch took the first quarter by a score of 16-5 before finishing off the home team with a second quarter score of 15-3. The win wraps up a season in which the Lady Falcons JV team finishes 15-6 overall and 6-2 in All-American Conference play.

Leading the scoring was Aviella Swift with 12 points followed by Bella Baumgart with 11. Araya Hayes had 4 while Stevonna Wright and Ayanna Williams each finished the game with 2 points.
