Lady Falcons Fall to Crestview on Senior Day

The Fitch girls basketball team honored its five members of the Class of 2026 with Senior Day festivities prior to taking on Crestview on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Lady Rebels handed the Lady Falcons a 68-40 loss as Kaelyn Bower, Amiya and Amira Harris, Kylie Folkwein, and Jeweliana Farmer walked off Greenwood Chevrolet Falcon Court for the final time.

Coming into the matchup with an 18-1 record, Crestview led Fitch by just five as the first quarter ended with the Lady Rebels up 16-11. However, the Lady Rebels balled out in the second frame by outscoring the home team 19-5 to take a 35-16 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Lady Falcons were outscored 13-10 in the third as Crestview took a 48-26 advantage into the final frame, capping things off with a 20-14 fourth quarter to seal the 68-40 win.

Fitch kept its quintet of seniors on the floor for nearly the entire game and all five players got on the stat sheet. Kylie Folkwein led the scoring with 12 points followed by junior Kaliana Ray who put up 9. Kaelyn Bower and Jeweliana Farmer each had 6 apiece while Amiya Harris scored 4 with sister Amira Harris adding 3.

The Lady Falcons will close out the regular season on Wednesday, February 18 when they go on the road to Warren for an All-American Conference matchup against Harding. The junior varsity teams will play two quarters beginning at 5:30pm with the varsity game following thereafter with tipoff scheduled for approximately 6:15pm.
